Sleep Consultants

Banish bedtime battles – once and for all

Are you fed up with your child’s poor sleeping? Don’t despair. Things can get better. In fact, bad sleep habits can be broken in as little as three days. Let our sleep consultants help solve your child’s sleep problems once and for all!

Why sleep training is important

Many parents dismiss ongoing sleepless nights and sleep battles as normal. Many also underestimate the impact these problems can have on family dynamics – and as well as their own physical and mental wellbeing.

But did you know that:

Almost ALL babies are capable of sleeping through the night (8-12hrs) between 4-6 months of age?

Sleep deprivation can impede the healthy development of babies and children?

17 hours of sleep deprivation in adults is equivalent to a blood alcohol reading of 0.05?

Our qualifications

At Nest Care, all our sleep consultants have undergone the Royal Children’s Hospital Infant Sleep Training Professional Development Program. We’ve also been personally trained by the Nest Care director – Amanda McGill – who has a postgraduate certificate in Paediatric Sleep Science and is a renowned Paediatric Sleep Consultant.

Our approach

Nest Care provides sleep consultations for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers (from 4 months up to 6 years of age). We address both day and night-time sleeping problems – we can come to you and/or assist you virtually (via phone/email support).

We also use gentle, responsive ‘limited cry methods’ wherever possible.

How it works

After a thorough evaluation of your situation, we’ll recommend the right approach for you and your family, which is likely to include the following services:

  1. Phone consultation: This initial call will give us an instant picture of your situation. You’d be surprised at how much we can glean from this alone. And in some cases, it’s all we need to get you on track.
  2. In-home consultation: For most families, a three hour consultation is the next step. After observing your child’s eating, playing and sleeping habits, we’ll develop a personalised, age appropriate sleep plan. We’ll also talk you through it and demonstrate it in detail.
  3. 1-5 day/night in-home sleep training: Where required, we come to your home for as many hours as required for 1-5 consecutive days/nights to work directly with you and your child. We can even live-in if required! During this time, we break your child’s bad sleep habits, demonstrate the appropriate sleep training methods before handing back to you under our guidance once the healthy new sleep habits have formed.
  4. Follow-up: After your 3-5 day/night in-home sleep training, you receive unlimited email and SMS support for seven days. We encourage you to use this opportunity to troubleshoot and consolidate your learning.
